BEAR-LY REMINISCENT IN LEADHILLS

I look forward to welcoming you to the Bear shop and Teddywood Bear Village in Leadhills.

Leadhills sits high up in the Lowther Hills in South West Scotland. 1500 feet above sea level and along with Wanlockhead, we're the highest villages in Scotland.

We're situated on the B797 - 7 miles from Abington off the M74. We're one hour from Edinburgh (A702) and one hour from Glasgow (M74)

Our shop is run from our little cottage on Main Street - and apart from bears we sell stories, bear bookmarks - featuring one of the bears - cushions - handbags and an assortment of little hanging decorations from Teddywood. (They're very busy bears)

Our bears have their own railway and it runs during the summer on Saturdays and Sundays - so you can ride the bear's train for real.

You can also visit the mine where the bears worked, it's open Easter - October

Why not visit us here in Leadhills and if you have time, stay and join the bears for a cuppa, or for the kids - hear a bear story.

There are still some bears living in the hills today but they are very shy so you have to really look for them. If you see something scuttling through the heather - it's probably a bear - so don't frighten them!

And thanks for visiting.
